They were inducted into various categories of membership during the institutes third induction and capacity building programme held at General ML Agwai Block of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), Abuja on October 31, 2020.

Babatubde Rabiu, Chairman, IOARM, while giving an address during the induction ceremony the evolving global system is riskier than ever, noting that the whole world is in economic recession and greater number of deaths have been recorded than those recorded in warfare.
“It is obvious that our universal system needs acute administrative skills to manage risk-laden multi-structure that has been identified with it in this present dispensation. Today’s challenges are quite digital and obviously monstrous when compare with times past. New challenges come with new technologies”, he said
Rabui added that ‘endemic corruption’ has found expressway to citizens mentality, financial system and moral values. He also said the entire system is plagued with terrific and fragile risk which surely needs concerted and multiple approach to manage.
According to him, it is not all risks that are negative, some positive risks are necessary catalysts for advancement.
“They are meant to be identified, managed, optimised and transformed to agents of development. Organisations need to be refreshed with mutual trust among staffers, individual needs to be retrained to meet the challenges of the moment”, he explained.
The chairman assured that the institute is poised to surmount the present challenges and ensure that a new breed of administrators and managers evolved who would be capable of controlling and minimizing risks in all sectors.
“Today’s event is to induct new members into our Institute, by this induction the inductees shall become Institute’s brand ambassadors and alumni. Today’s crop of inductees are expected to bear the torch of the Institute and give light to their immediate environment and workplaces.
“It is my belief that everyone of us present here today, including our fellows, shall take advantage of this event to learn new ways of managing all forms of risk in our workplaces, homes and businesses; initiate networking opportunities with new partners here present today; and imbibe some formidable skills capable of advancing personal administrative prowess”, he said.
Risk Management Institute Inducts Ex-Army Spokesperson, 137 Others
I was part of the October 2020 Induction Ceremony at the Nigerian Army Resource Center, Asokoro, Abuja. It was a wonderful time.
The lectures on risk management were enriching and set a good partway for the management of risk in businesses and everyday life. We also made our way to the Nigerian Army Museum Center at the NARC where we were acquainted with the artifacts used by the army in the ancient time in Nigeria.
